Importance Of Calculus
The most important branch of mathematics is calculus. The calculus deals with finding the properties of the derivatives and the integrals of the methods and functions. It is developed to understand the continuously changing quantities. In calculus, there are two different fields namely,
- Differential Calculus
- Integral calculus

Differential Calculus
Differential calculus is the one part of calculus which deals with the behaviour and rate of the change of quantities. With the help of graph function, the rate can be easily computed, analysed and predicted. The process of finding the derivative is called the differentiation. It is mostly concerned with the properties, differentials and the applications of derivatives. It has its applications in all the quantitative disciplines. Derivatives are applied mostly to find out the maxima and the minima of functions and it is mainly used for some of the complex and functional analysis.
Integral calculus
Integral calculus is another subfield of calculus and it is the reverse process of the differentiation by finding the antiderivatives of a function. It deals with the size or the value like areas and volume. Both the differential and the integral calculus are connected with the help of fundamental theorem of calculus which shows that differentiation is a reverse process of integration and vice versa.
Why Calculus is Necessary?
Learning calculus is important for everyone because it is essential in many fields of science and engineering. It acts as a prototype for tough situations. Calculus helps to develop our thinking capability and problem-solving skills. By using the definite integral, the area of a rectangle, the volume of a frustum, and many other geometrical shapes can be determined. Calculus is not only confined to mathematics, but it also has its equal importance in many other fields like
- Artificial Intelligence
- Computer vision
- Network visualisation
- Robots
- Movies
- Computer games etc.
Calculus in Everyday Life
Calculus is all around you. You may not sit and solve the tricky calculus problems. But the application of calculus is everywhere starting from the computer algorithm to the modelling of the diseases. To find the precise and accurate answer, most of the computer search engines algorithm uses calculus for a better output. Biologists use calculus to find the exact rate of growth by analyzing the population. It is used in the development of many scientific inventions and discoveries in the field of engineering, physics, economics, chemistry etc. In chemistry, to find out the rate of the reaction, calculus is used. In short, calculus is a language of engineers, economists and most of the scientists. It is even used by lawyers and doctors to solve the complex problem quickly,
